ABOUT
US A bit about us.. You will find Borders View Farm nestled amongst 70 acres of lush pasture within the City of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. We raise CBCA / ABCA Registered Border Collies with the intention of maintaining the breeds working instinct as well as ability, yet offering active families a companion with a loving, loyal temperament. Being a working sheep farm it was a natural step for Ian and I to take our dogs from farm work to competitive sheepdog trialling. Traveling throughout North America, herding quickly became a sport than Ian and I have grown to love in over more than a decade of working with Border Collies. You will also find three Anatolian Shepherd dogs keeping a watchful eye over all the activity at Borders View Farm. More than just predator control, these intelligent, athletic dogs prove to be wonderful companions. Spending nights on patrol guarding the flock, family time comes as a welcome distraction for Tulah and Rebel. Our family looks forward to welcoming our first litter of AKC registered ASD's in 2010. Please feel free to contact us with any inquiries as to upcoming litters of either Border Collies or Anatolian Shepherd dogs. Border collie rescue.. Being a full rescue organization, we welcome abandoned, abused or misunderstood Border Collies into our farm. These beautiful, affectionate and high energy dogs require knowledgeable owners to completely understand their personality. Unfortunately this doesn't happen in every case and a Border Collie ends up needing help. Our experience enables us to work with, and rehabilitate, Border Collies before placing them in a more suitable environment. Adoption applications must be filled out by anyone interested in adopting a Border Collie before the right home is chosen. Please contact us for more information. Working dogs and pups.. On occasion we have quality, started working dogs available for sale. We are breeders of CBCA / ABCA registered Border Collie pups and only breed for a purpose (never just to have puppies around). Please contact us for availability. In the next year, we'll be welcoming our first litter of AKC registered Anatolian Shepherd pups.  Herding.. For those with a particular interest in herding, we offer lessons for all herding breeds beginning with herding instinct tests. Come and learn about herding in a non-competitive environment. Develop a better understanding of your dogs natural born instincts while building a closer relationship. Goose control.. Canada geese are beautiful to look at, however their waste poses a health risk and is aesthetically unpleasing. Borders View Farm, in conjunction with Ewe's Welcome Farm, has been training and selling goose control dogs for the past 15 years. For those situations where clients are unable to house a dog during the off season, we offer a leasing program. Our dog and handler teams are available to visit your property to solve your nuisance goose problem. |
